SAN FRANCISCO (KPIX 5) — Samsung's smartphone problem is getting even hotter.A man is suing the company after he says his Galaxy Note 7 exploded in his pocket.This appears to be the first lawsuit in the U.S. over the battery defect linked to fires.

The official recall of the Galaxy Note 7 came ten hours after a Florida man's 20 day old Note 7 exploded in his front pant pocket that wasn't related to recharging the smartphone.The WPTV news channel also reported on another car fire related to the Note 7 in Port St. Lucie Florida.Specifically, WPTV reports that "A-28-year-old man whose Galaxy Note7 exploded in his pocket while at work in Palm Beach Gardens this month has filed a lawsuit against Samsung, according to his lawyer.
