Will Samsung finally show its Galaxy X foldable smartphone at IFA 2017?
Before being known as the Galaxy X, Samsung's folding phone had the code name Project Valley. Samsung's long-rumoured foldable smartphone might soon debut. Now, a new report from ET News said Samsung is planning to start production of a prototype of the foldable smartphone, with the goal of launching it soon after. That means the prototype may show up at IFA 2017, which is set to kick off in early September. The Korea Herald even Samsung may roll out more than "100,000 units of fold-out devices" later on this year.As it stated in Samsung usually introduces the Galaxy Note series, but that does not exclude the possibility of having a foldable smartphone presented to the crowd, or at least tease one for a later date. The company will reportedly start producing "thousands of prototypes" in the third quarter of 2017. Samsung already introduced foldable screen tech that has four phases: curved, bent, foldable and rollable. We already have seen some of them in real life, but now the Korean company reportedly will have a working prototype of a smartphone, sources suggest. Q3 2017 is already marked in some calendars as the time for IFA 2017 in Berlin.
