"The Indian Express" declare : Tecno smartphone brand launches in India with five new phones

The company has launched five smartphones in its "i"series – i5,i5 Pro, i3, i3 Pro and i7. China's Transsion Holdings, which operates a number of brands including itel, wants to play a larger role in the Indian smartphone market. Initially, the Tecno brand has been launched in three states of Punjab, Rajasthan and Gujarat. Tecno i7 is the flagship smartphone and will be hitting the market only in May. The company on Monday introduced Tecno, a new brand which will cater to the fast-growing mid-range segment.


as mentioned in The Tecno Mobile i3 is priced at Rs 7,990 whereas the Tecno Mobile i3 Pro costs Rs 9,990. While the Tecno Mobile i3 packs 2GB of RAM, the Tecno Mobile i3 Pro includes 3GB of RAM. The Tecno Mobile i3 andi3 Pro are backed by a 3,050mAh battery, and the i3 Pro comes with a fingerprint sensor. The picture shows the specifications of the newly launched Tecno i3 and i3 Pro. The Tecno Mobile i5 and i5 Pro that are priced at Rs 11,490 and Rs 12,990 respectively.

Chinese handset maker Transsion Holdings will introduce its smartphone brand Tecno in India this month, further intensifying competition in one of the world's largest mobile phone markets. Transsion's 'itel' brand stood at the second spot in the overall mobile phone market in the last quarter of 2016. Chowdhury, however, declined to comment on investment details and market share that the company was aiming for in the Indian market. In the past few months, India has seen Chinese mobile phone brands like Lenovo, Vivo and Oppo swarming the market and gain market share. Transsion had launched its 'itel' brand in India last year and is now exploring the potential of launching its third brand -- Infinix -- in the country.
