- CHINESE PHONE MAKER Huawei has taken to CES to boast that its Mate 9 smartphone will be the first to come with Amazon's Alexa assistant baked in.Coinciding with the announcement that the Huawei Mate 9 will launch in the US this month, the firm has revealed that it will be pre-loading Amazon's artificial intelligence (AI) assistant onto the big-screened smartphone, which means you'll no longer need an Echo or Echo Dot to get your hands on Alexa.It won't be pre-installed on models that ship this month, with Huawei instead confirming that Alexa will arrive in the form of an app in "early 2017."
