Regardless, it looks like a press photo of the alleged Xperia XZ successor has just leaked online courtesy to China's Weibo social network and PriceRaja. Unfortunately, the one device that matters most, Sony's flagship smartphone, might not be officially unveiled at MWC 2017 since Samsung has exclusivity over Qualcomm's Snapdragon 835 processor until late April. Also, Sony's Xperia handset is supposed to sport a 5-inch display with full HD (1080p) resolution, a 23-megapixel rear-facing camera, and an impressive 16-megapixel camera in the front. Sony might not like the fact that its flagship smartphone won't pack the most powerful processor on the market, so it could delay the launch of the Xperia XZ successor for a few months. Obviously, there's also the chance that Sony will choose to include the next best chipset for mobile devices, the Snapdragon 821, inside its flagship.
