Samsung overtaken with Chinese phone elect Xiaomi in India
Samsung, the world's biggest phone company, has been knocked off the highest spot in India's red-hot market. Xiaomi accounted for 25% of Indian phone discounds in the final quarter of 2017, compared to 23% for Samsung (SSNLF), according to consultancy Counterpoint Research. The South Korean firm has dominated India's phone market for the final 6 years, however Xiaomi has been gaining ground steadily since it got in the country in 2014.
