LG launches its own foldable smartphone – V50 ThinQ

referring to LG has unveiled the V50 ThinQ smartphone – its first 5G offering – at MWC 2019 in Barcelona. The main screen is a 6.4-inch QHD+ OLED display, while the second screen is 6.2-inch OLED display – the difference in size owing to a larger bezel on the latter. The V50 ThinQ offers a triple-lens rear camera as well as HDR imaging, which allows the V50 to take 4K 60fps video. It uses Qualcomm's Snapdragon 855 processor and X50 5G modem – both of which are the standard for flagship 5G smartphones released to date. LG will initially release the V50 ThinQ in the US, South Korea, Australia, and various European countries.

The phone announced Wednesday in San Francisco will be called the Galaxy Fold and will sell for $1,980 when it is released April 26. Samsung is hoping the Galaxy Fold will spur more people to upgrade their phones and reverse a recent slump that saw its smartphone sales fall 8 percent last year. Those are all important features to consumers shopping for phones, although they aren't a big leap from the models released during the past few years. The new models expected in San Francisco will commemorate the 10th anniversary of Samsung's first smartphone. Samsung is also expected to provide a glimpse at a highly anticipated smartphone with a foldable screen.
